Today's post is dedicated to former Chief Minister of Jharkhand Mr. Madhu Koda. Right now he is admitted in a hospital in Ranchi following complaints of high blood pressure and stomach pain. I am reminded of my college days when I used to bunk classes and when reprimanded by a teacher the excuse of fever and stomach pain were so spontaneous. I think Mr Koda did not have any information or else he would have gone to the States for treatment......
Now for some stats. Koda and eight others have been accused of amassing property worth hundreds of crores. They broke the national barriers and went global. They have amassed property in UAE, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and Libya. Both the ED (Enforcement Directorate) and IT department have started scrutiny of documents recovered during the searches. These documents pertain to Hawala transactions and investments running into more than Rs 2000 crore by Koda and party. The IT department will take care of the unaccounted money in the country and ED will probe the investments and purchases done outside the country.
The fresh news is that certain documents were uncovered that show that one of the close associates of the former CM was in serious negotiations to acquire an SEZ in Noida for a whopping 4800 crore to be paid in Euros (70 crore euros). The former CM and his associates are also said to award high value mining leases to industrialists and their friends.
All politicians and their respective parties are trying their best to proove that they are not linked to Koda. Each party is hurling stones at one another making it look like a joke. These scams are not new to us and I bet that either the charges will be dropped against him after the enquiry or the trial will go on for a few decades. In either case, he will go scot free.
